lady, Mrs Michelle Obama speak, i was totally
bewildered and taken down a peg or two in gape.
I couldn't help it but 'simmer down' trying to
juxtapose the inherent characteristics of Mrs
Michelle Obama to that of my 'inglorious' First
Lady of the Federal Republic who has lately,
chosen the path of adding insult to Nigeria's
overheated polity-injuries, through her
unguarded and character defamation public
statements and speeches, not demurring her
very recent inciting comments -- urging her
diehards to stone anyone that chants the slogan
of an opposition party, which has heavily dragged
Nigerians pseudo-respect for her to 'no-hoper
status' -- no ears now want to hear the name,
Dame Patience. We have learnt the ugly side of
stateswomanship from our now loquacious First
Lady.
I may be rused to believe that all must not be
absolute perfect in speaking, but no perfectionist
would change my strict belief on 'character
perfectioning' -- every tom, dick and harry can
perfect his/her character. It is a matter of choice.
I am absolutely sure and convinced that Dame's
husband, President Goodluck Jonathan has put in
great effort to steer the peaceful co-existence of
this great nation to utopian zenith. But going by
the height of the electioneering rallies and
forums being organized for the First Lady and
her hokum-unclad speeches and statements
therein, the strides of Mr President -- to unite
Nigeria may be riding on peregrination.
I know for sure how ambitious the president and
his affiliates are, to sustain the strides they have
paddled since the demise of president Yar' Adua.
But with this new found love for disingenousness
by Dame Patience, the journey for "GEJ 2019"
seems an odessey, who will vote for tribalism
orient?
Come to think of it, could this profound
misguided new-born Dame Patience be a
profused act of President Jonathan and his
political allies or could it be a scripted play by
Dame's advisers?
I should be a bit sceptical of the former and
concur with the latter. But even if the frivolous
script was superimposed on her to "play fast and
loose", couldn't her mother-figure and "Mama
Peace" integrity of her's refute such politically
motivated fool-hardy follies?
I won't forget in a hurry, the very scintilating
quote from Michelle Obama, (Dame's status
mate), when she said , "I am an example of what
is possible when girls from the very beginning of
their lives are loved and nurtured by people
around them. I was surrounded by extraordinary
women in my life who taught me about quiet
strength and dignity".
Is Dame Patience's story different from
Michelle's spurring historical background?
What are we blind to concerning our number one
female citizen?
Does it also amount to the "shoeless" society we
used to know?
Let us imagine that is the case -- the "shoeless
theory". Won't the stone the builders reject turn
the headstone again?
Let me also quote President Obama's 'home-
maker' who said, "We need to do a better job of
putting ourselves higher on our own 'to do' list".
Does it mean our Dame doesn't have a "to do"
list? (she needs one, if you ask me), because,
there are over 30 million women out there
following her foot-path and actions. Her role in
capacity building should be of inestimable value
rather than childish public incitement and 'pooh-
pooh' inflammatory speeches.
I believe Mr President should act fast to down
the over-rised chaos his family builder is
spearheading or "pay through the nose" of losing
out to better political opponents with matured-
minded women leader.
Mama Peace! A word they say is enough for the
wise.
Nigeria Belongs To All Of Us. Let's Build It
Together.
Without mimsing words, let me drop it as Leo
Tolstoy said it, "Everyone thinks of changing the
world, but no one thinks of changing himself".
CHANGE starts from you!
God Bless Nigeria!
