by the entire Nollywood industry, General Buhari had
threatened to ban Nollywood when he is sworn is as
Nigerian President.
A sourced from the Buhari campaign organisation said
the General was livid as to how both the young and the
old from Nollywood, musicians, comedians have all
openly endorsed President Jonathan, with Chika Okpala
( Chief Zebrudaya and Pete Edocie openly saying they are
all working for Jonathan without any payment because
they want to contribute to his re-election.
President Jonathan was the first Nigerian President who
openly supported Nollywood with millions of dollars in
grants. The recent re-basing of the economy has shown
that Nollywood contributes almost 200 million dollars to
the Nigerian economy.
General Buhari who has never hidden his dislike for what
he calls the indecency from the group clearly stated that
the latest move by actors, musicians and comedians in
the country, who gathered recently in lagos to support
Jonathan , is the last straw that has severed him from the
group.
